Thinking about fall style today

I love summer. And pretty much all things summer. I love printed shorts, beach cover ups, clothes with pom poms on them. The beach, walks on summer evenings, cookouts..... you get the picture. But somehow this year, as summer is in its peak, I find my mind going to fall. Cinnamon, all things pumpkin, falling leaves, crisp air & fall apparel. I think it is because this fall I have some clothing items I am itching to break out of my closet. Some items I am looking forward to wearing are my Frye boots, first pair I have owned and I think they just might be my favorite boots, ever!

Planning to wear a lot with skinny dark wash jeans & sweaters. Another item I am super excited about, that I a probably a little behind on (was the big fashion trend last fall among fashion bloggers, but I was never lucky enough to find at a reasonable cost) is my Zara Blanket Scarf! These retailed for under $20 at Zara last year, then they became a big, sold out hit & people were listing them on Ebay & Poshmark for over $100! Thankfully I found a good deal on one on Poshmark (Which is a great site for those trying to find fashionable items at a good price!). Anyhow this year I am hoping
this comes back, but if not I know I will still wear and enjoy as I love the plaid & colors of it!

The other item that is on its way to me right now, should be here today is my Madewell Slim Camden tote. And by the way, I said I would update you on the Ebay one that I am selling, and what the final cost of mine was. Currently I have 2 days left to my auction and the bag is up to $156 with 5 watchers! So that should be good news for me! Anxious to see what I ended up getting mine for! I am imagining under $30 for sure!

Lastly I have fallen prey to the J.Crew Herringbone Vest craze! It was big last fall, and looks to be big again this fall. I pretty much love all things J.Crew so I figured I couldn't go wrong. Currently these are on backorder from J.Crew Factory till November so I am glad I ordered mine when I did, as we all know NE Ohio gets cold enough for a vest by late September.  P.S. If anyone needs one in a Medium, I may just have bought two lol :)

Now the last two items I don't own, and I need your help deciding on! Trying to figure out if I want L.L. Bean "Duck" boots for those rainy & snowy days ahead or a pair of Hunter Boots. I like them both & just having a hard time making a choice! Which is your pick?

1: Hunter Boots
 2: L.L. Bean Boots

Thanks for reading & boot feedback!  - Caroline

How I got an $188 dollar handbag......

... for possibly free! I have been eyeing the gorgeous leather handbags that Madewell has to offer for a few months now (and that is also a key strategy in how I find great deals, keep track of items you like and check often for sales!). Finally the other day I hit the jackpot! Not only did they have a bag that I had seen on a fashion blogger I follow and had been loving, it was also marked down from $188 to $129, add in free shipping & a 40% off sale items discount & it made my bag-to-be $83 shipped! Now in a desire to get an even better deal, I did some research on Ebay. Multiple of the same bag (Slim Camden Tote) had sold on there recently for almost full retail price. So I took a risk, purchased two with the intent to list one & keep one. Now this was just last week, so I don't know the final price of my bag yet. It may be free, it may be under $40. I will be back to update when the 2nd bag sells on Ebay. Yes, this was a risk. But from the research I did, I do believe it will be a risk that pays off. Currently the bag is no longer available thru Madewell so unfortunately I can't link it here for you to purchase, but I will post photos for you to view!

Thanks - Caroline

An update: Well both bags ended up selling. I was a bit sad, as I did love this bag but I made a decent profit and was able to get a few nice items from my fall wish list!

My first post

Decided to give blogging another try. In the past few years I have really enjoyed following fashion bloggers and seeing what they have to say. I love all things fashion and love to find amazing deals on the items I want. Often I get asked how I can get nice and  more expensive items for a low cost, so this blog will be a mix of sharing fashion ideas, some home trends & mainly how to have "Champagne Tastes on a Beer Budget". Enjoy - Caroline
